The Venetian Twins

A Musical Comedy
By Nick Enright and Terence Clark
Based on the play by Carlo Goldoni

13 November – 15 December 2012

The iconic Aussie musical returns!

Slapstick comedy, broad farce and vaudeville collide in this inventive and irreverent musical adaptation of Carlo Goldoni’s 18th century commedia dell’arte classic.

Identical twin brothers – one sophisticated, the other naive – turn up at the same time in the same town (located somewhere in the region of Goondiwindi) unaware of each other’s presence. Mayhem ensues, but the youthful heroes prevail, the pompous spoilsports get their comeuppance, true love wins out and everything resolves happily in the end.

Bursting with knockabout larrikin humour, rollicking song and dance numbers, inspired clowning, a touch of whimsy and a sexy darkness, an evening with THE VENETIAN TWINS is a deliciously naughty way to end the year.
