CALL TO AUDITION:

A CHRISTMAS CAROL: A MOVED READING
by Charles Dickens
Adapted by Rosane McNamara

A Special End-of-Year Fundraiser for New Theatre

“Bah! Humbug!”

Nothing says Christmas quite like Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

We may not have snow in Sydney, and it’s certainly not 1843, but New Theatre is delighted to present a brand-new adaptation of this timeless story of greed and redemption.

Dickens sought to inspire change in how the poor were viewed and treated, weaving this message through his enduring tale of the true spirit of Christmas.

Be haunted alongside Ebenezer Scrooge, the quintessential miser, as he’s visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. Lament the plight of the Cratchit family as they make merry with little and care deeply for one, especially their youngest, Tiny Tim. And ultimately, celebrate the Dickensian spirit of Christmas, where kindness and hope triumph over meanness and despair.
