CALL TO AUDITION:
THE OTHER END OF THE AFTERNOON
BY BOKKIE ROBERTSON
Winner 2022 Silver Gull Play Award
World Premier for SYDNEY FRINGE FESTIVAL 2022
THE OTHER END OF THE AFTERNOON is a young adult dramedy about a boy who wears a top hat to school (in case he goes back in time), the cool girl who bullies him (and might have a crush on him), the world’s worst stepbrother (who wants to be a crime lord), the school dropkick (who’s about to snap), and (perhaps) time travel.

AUDITIONS
It is essential to read the script BEFORE applying. There is a perusal copy of the script available for viewing here.
The initial round of auditions will be done using self-tape. Call-back auditions will be held at the theatre in person after the first round of auditions is complete, exact dates tbc. If you are unable to submit a self-tape, please email the Director at afternoonnt22@gmail.com to arrange an alternative means of audition.
Your filmed audition should include:
• A very brief self- introduction, including your name
• A brief introduction to your chosen audition piece
• Your audition piece: 1-to-2-minute dramatic or comedic monologue of your choice. We are interested in seeing a naturalistic, conversational performance style.
Once you have captured your audition, upload it as either a private and password-protected Vimeo or a YouTube video using the password ‘Afternoon22’ and email the link with the below information to afternoonnt22@gmail.com.
In your email, please:
• include an up-to-date headshot and cv or, if you are an emerging actor, an up-to-date photo (head and shoulders) and brief account of previous performing/creative experience.
• indicate which role/roles you are interested in
• indicate if you are currently a New Theatre member
Self-tape submissions close at 5pm on SUNDAY 19 JUNE, although earlier submissions are encouraged.
You will only be contacted if we wish to see you for a call-back. If you are not successful in securing a call-back audition, no feedback will be given, but we greatly appreciate your time and thank you for your interest.
