What A Shock 'N' Shame

by Tony Taylorwhat a shock n shame image small
adapted (with dubious taste) from a novel by Mrs Henry Wood

22 October - 7 November 2009

London 1888. The Autumn of Terror. Whitechapel is gripped by fear. A monster lurks in the shadows with murder on his mind and blood on his hands. Who will be his next victim? Meanwhile, life goes on. In the glow of the gaslights at the Paragon Theatre of Varieties in Mile End Road a little company of actors presents a melodrama inspired by the novel East Lynne. Join the prostitutes, parlour singers, coppers, toffs and assorted riff raff of Victorian London for a night of music and hilarity; villains and heroines; honour and redemption; a little bit of shock and a whole lot of shame.

New Theatre proudly presents the World Premiere of What A Shock ‘N’ Shame by Tony Taylor, co-creator of the hit Shakespearean spoof The Popular Mechanicals and a string of shows at the beloved Tilbury Hotel.

What A Shock’N’Shame guarantees the ultimate boo-the-baddies and laugh-till-you-cry experience.
