Public Transport

We are a five minute walk from Newtown or St Peters Railway Stations, diagonally opposite the top of Alice Street.

Available bus routes:
422 City - Tempe
370 Coogee – Leichhardt
308 City - Marrickville Metro

Parking

There is limited street parking available around the theatre but no on-site parking. Please be aware that King St becomes a clearway between 3pm – 7pm.

Assisted Access at New Theatre

New Theatre is now accessible for patrons in wheelchairs.  A wheelchair lift operates from the foyer to the rear of the auditorium. There is space available for two wheelchairs at the rear of the theatre. We are not able to provide wheelchair spaces towards the front of the theatre for patrons with a visual impairment.

Should you require mobility assistance of any kind, please advise the Box Office when booking your tickets. One of our Front of House Volunteers will be able to assist you on your arrival.

Please inform us or MCA Ticketing at least 24 hours in advance to ensure we are able to assist your special needs.

Patrons with a Hearing or Vision Disability

Seating at New Theatre is general admission, so patrons with a hearing or vision disability may choose to sit as close to the stage as they wish. New Theatre does not have a hearing loop or infra-red hearing augmentation system.

Guide Dogs are welcome and our Front of House Volunteers can provide a guide dog minding service and bring your dog to your seat at the interval and the end of the performance. Please contact us in advance so that we can ensure appropriate care.

There is an accessible toilet located in the foyer.

Parent’s Room

There is a baby change facility located in the accessible toilet.

Cloak Room

Due to space limitations there is no cloak room facility at New Theatre.
